Franken Reception

On Tuesday, March 4, 2008 Alan and his wife Robin will co-host the Al Franken Reception in NYC.

ASSSSCAT at UCB

On Sunday, February 12th, Alan did the monologues for ASSSSCAT at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre


Then on Sunday, [...] I went to ASSSSCAT...and it was a very good choice indeed. The cast was absolutely brilliant (Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, Horatio Sanz, Jack McBrayer, Lennon Parham, Rachel Dratch, Brian Stack and Miriam Tolan). The monologist, though, was Alan Zweibel - one of the original writers for SNL! He told fantastic stories about Gilda Radner and the first years of SNL. It was incredible and the improv that followed was ridiculous and fun and I was just a very happy girl. This weekend was tremendously fun!

Inside Joke at UCB

On Monday, February 12th, Alan was interviewed for Inside Joke by Carl Arnheiter at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. 


Despite the bitter cold last night, I and several other humor-loving people ventured out to catch Inside Joke, Carl Arnheiter's clever and insightful live talk show. The UCB postcards describe Inside Joke as "a cross between Charlie Rose and This Old House, minus the interruptions and power tools," which means, of course, it's not really like either of those PBS programs. Arnheiter knows his subjects and, perhaps more importantly, knows when to let them chat and chat and chat some more and reveal what's made them so funny and worth talking to in the first place. [...]
