Alan Zweibel began his career by writing one-liners, which he sold for $7.00 apiece, to Catskill comedians before he was discovered by Lorne Michaels, who gave him a job as one of the original writers of Saturday Night Live. Since then, he has won 5 Emmy, 6 Ace, and 2 Writer’s Guild awards for his work in television, which also includes PBS’s Great Performances as well as It’s Garry Shandling’s Show (which he created and produced) and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
